Sox Update: Sox win 8-0. Perez and Everett each drive in 3. Widger makes a nice throw to catch Smith stealing. Garland paints another masterpiece - going the distance giving up just 4 hits. He's now 5-0.

I listened to part of Sunday's game on the car radio as I was running around the west burbs doing oh so sexy errands like picking up dry cleaning and shopping for MILFs - er, I mean, food - at Trader Joes. One stat that Ron and Ed brought up that I found interesting is that the Sox are one of only two teams to score first, and thus lead, in the first 25 games of the season. The other team to do it? The 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers, who went on to win the World Series. This should convince everyone what I've been saying since Day 1 - 2005 is the Sox year.

Down On the Farm:

Charlotte (AAA): no one cares. Though I had a request for some Borchard info. So far this year, in 80 at bats, he's struck out 31 times, and got just 13 hits. He's dead last on this crappy team with a .163 BA. His other offensive stats are equally dismal.Though to his credit, he does have 7 walks, and no errors.

Birmingham (AA): Lose to the Lookouts, 7-4. Young gets 3 hits. The Barons commit 3 errors that cost them the game.

Winston-Salem (A): Lost 1-0 to Wilmington in a shortened game. Collaro had the day off, thus the Hogs bats were silent. Lopez struck out 6 on 3 n 2/3rds.

Kannapolis (A): Beat Hagerstown 6-5. King drives in 2. Liotta has a rare, bad outing; giving up 7 hits, including a homer, and 4 ER in 4 and 2/3rds IP. He walked 2 and sturck out 1.

Baseball phrase of the day: taking the day off from this feature.

Kentucky Derby is saturday, a sure sign summer is on the way!

I caught a little bit of Sunday Night Baseball. Sam Ryan, ESPN's girl reporter, is too hot. Part young Carly Simon, part Elizabeth Shue in her prime, they should just give her her own show, where she just does nothing but mundane daily chores, like make toast. She could just stand still and breathe and it would be hot. I could watch her watch TV all day. She needs more face time on SNB, but also more ass and tits time.
