Sox Update: Sox lose to Oakland 2-1. More bad calls and ejections, etc... Thankfully, the series in the Twilight Zone is over. An off day today before the Tiger comes out to 35th and Shields this weekend.

Down On The Farm:

Charlotte (AAA):..still suck so bad I'm not going to report on them unless McCarthy is pitching.

Birmingham (AA): Destroyed Tenn 13-2. Blakey goes 4 for 6, hits two homers and drives in 5 runs. Fields was 3 for 6, with a homer and 5 RBIs, Owens and Young also collected 3 hits each.

Winston-Salem (A): Lose to Fredrick 7-4. Collaro Watch: 0 for 4 - how rare is that? Molina was 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Myers was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs.

Kannapolis (A): lose uneventfully to Lexington.

Baseball phrase of the day: punch-and-judy adj. a batter who hits well-placed, but lightly hit balls for singles; one who chkes up on the bat and "punches" at the ball, rather than take a full swing.
