Wha happened?

hi friend

I know what you're thinking. I don't post for a few days so I must have some good story to tell. Maybe a new - or additional - lady in my life. A quickie in a club bathroom, or an all night sheet-soaking session.

Sadly, no such luck.

Sox Update: Spent the last year, Rocky Mountain Way (wah wah wah wah)... Sorry - I had to do it. Nuthin wrong with a lil Joe Walsh, the Bomber himself... The Sox play their first ever game in Denver and they brought their lumber. After a rough first inning, in which he made one mistake and allowed a 3-run homer, Garcia has his best game of the year and the Sox win 9-3. He allowed 2 hits over 8 IP, striking out 10. Mr. Zero looked like his old self and gets the save. The offense was on fire. AJ came thru with some clutch hits. Konerko homered, going 2 for 3 with 2 walks. Dye, Uribe and AJ each had 3 hits.

One bad thing - the Sox left 12 men on base.

Now that Big Frank is back, there have been a lot of trade rumors floating around, involving Carl Everett, or even the aforementioned Mr. Thomas. I've also heard the Sox two top minor league prospects may be on the block, namely, Brandon McCarthy or Brian Anderson. I'm not so sure. Right now, I don't see a whole lot of holes in the Sox line-up. And why mess with the success. I agree you have to be on the look out, but for who? A power-hitting firstbaseman? I dunno. Maybe... Sounds like a mistake, from a tuesday point of view...

Minor League Update:

Charlotte (AAA): Despite the fact the Stewart gets shelled for 5 ER and 10 hits in just 4 IP. the Knights somehow find a way to beat Indy 6-5. Gload homered and drove in 2.

Birmingham (A): rained out.

Winston-Salem (A): lose to Potomac 2-1. collaro sat out. I hope he's OK.

Kannapolis (A): lose to Augusta 5-3. Berry was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles.

Baseball phrase of the day: middle gardener n. center fielder.

Today's music selection: It was hot. Soooo hot. So I cranked up the MPB... And since I mentioned Joe Walsh earlier, I might as will make the confession that yes, 20 years ago, I was a fan. Here's some of my favorites from one of rock n roll's finest:
'Waffle Stomp' (by far his best tune)
'Life's Been Good'
(an anthem)
'I.L.B.T' (as in "I like big tits!")
'Tomorrow' (acoustic version )
'Indian Summer' (also, acoustic)
'In the City' (from 'The Warriors' soundtrack)
'All Night Long'
'The Confessor'
'Rosewood Bitters' (which Joe didn't write, Michael Stanley did, though Walsh played on Stanley's original version, I like Joe's version, but not as much as the original.).
'Bubbles'
'Good Man Down'
and from his early days -
'Walk Away'
'Funk #49"

The Sox led by 6 runs, Shingo couldn't have earned a save...
