Acceptable thursday

Sox Update: The ball was flying all over that park in Detroit on thursday afternoon. Sox win 13-9. Thome homers and drives in 2. Iguchi homers and drives in 3. Dye had 3 RBIs. Cintron had 3 hits.. etc... it just keeps going... Not much you can say about the pitching on a day like today. Sox come home to take on Toronto tonight on the Southside, trailing the first place Indians by just a game.

DOWN ON THE FARM:

Charlotte (AAA): Haeger gets the win in Columbus behind an Owens homer. Velandia had 3 hits.

Birmingham (AA): The Barons win 2-0 at Huntsville on a Schnurestein homer. Collaro goes 0 fo4 but at least he didn't strike out.

Winston-Salem (High A): The Hog with a 6-4 win against Myrtle Beach. Homers from DeLos Santos, Gomes and Kelly. Smith had 3 hits.

Kannapolis (Low A): After an errorless game that produced an Intimidator win, on thursday, they committ 4 errors (AGAIN?) and lose to Ashville, 8-5. That's 17 errors in just 7 games - of which 4 are from Rodriguez, 3 from Carter. Too bad as the pitching looked fairly decent, with 15 total strikes outs spread among 4 different pitchers who only gave up 3 ER between them. But when you make 4 fucking errrors, you are going to lose games.

Baseball phrase of the day: big guns n. a team's best batters.

Beer count -2.
