On vacation, huh? Just like the White Sox offense vs old man Maddux and the cripple with the broken elbow. If you can't beat up on those guys, what kind of team do ya got? Do you pray that a little leaguer like Sergio Mitre is going to against you everyday?
Those sixteen scoreless inning are a certainly sign of things to come. We're going to witness one of the worst post-All-Star-break collapses in history. Even worse than Bartman.
I think the Sox pitching and balanced offense is just too strong for a total meltdown. The 2nd half of the season might not be as great as the first, but I'll stick with my prediction that the Sox win it all. At the very least, they'll get into the playoffs, even if only as a wild card. I woory about Minnesota. Along with the LA Angels, they appear to be the best team in the AL.
It would take multiple injuries to put the Sox out of the post season picture. ANd well, no one can predict that...
My prediction: The Sox will win the AL Central and the Cubs will win the NL wild card. Both teams will make quick exits from the playoffs.
