A Southside debut

Sox Update: Thanks to nice weather and half price tickets, 34,000 people showed up to watch Brandon McCarthy make his debut at Comiskey. I felt like it was his poorest outing of the year - he just could not find the plate and went real deep into the count on KC hitters. 4 and 3rds IP, 6 ER, only 4 Ks in a no decision. I'm not sure what Ozzie's motivation was for bringing in Vizcaino, who promptly gave up 2 more runs. Finally, he called on Cotts, who pitched a nice 2 and 1/3rd, striking out 3, and earning the win.

At the plate, it was the AJ show again. That guy can be most clutch. His bloop single was the difference. He was 3 for 5 on the night. Iguchi was also 3 for 5 and made some nice plays on D. Konerko was also 3 for 5, including a homer, and he drove in 4. Big Frank and Dye also homered. Ozuna almost got lost in the shuffle, but he was 2 for 4 with a stolen base.

Oh, did I mention, the Sox beat the KC Royals, 11-8.

More fun tonight at 35th and Shields...
