Sox Update: With the 4-1 win over KC, sox have now won 8 of 9. Garland ptiched well and sPods is finally beginning to hit the ball and get on base. Thome scored another run.

DOWN ON THE FARM:

Charlotte (AAA): This is a different Knight team than last year; 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th beat the Toldeo Mudhens 4-3. Last year, they would've lost by 10. Field and Matos each get 2 hits. Blakely strikes out 3 times. Velandia and Lopez each homer. Haeger must have had the knuckler working - 8 K in 8 IP, 0 ER.

Birmingham( AA): Similiar to the Knight game, a run in the bottom of the 9th and the Barons beat Tenn 4-3. Quinn goes 3 for 5. Collaro goes 1 for 5 but also struck out twice. Lumsden strikes out 6 in 5 IP, walking 3 and giving up 2 ER.

Winston-Salem (High A): The Hog uneventfully 5-3 to Myrtle Beach.

Kannapolis (Low A): 2 more errors and another loss, 6-4 to Rome. This time only 5 of the 6 opponent runs were earned. Rodriguez struck out 9 in just 5 IP. Roberts was 3 for 5.
