Move it along, nuthin to see here, folks...

Sox Update: I haven't been giving this blog much attention the past few days. After the debacle in KC, probably a good thing. The last two games were just horrible. I don't want to talk about it. Onto Baltimore.

Down On the Farm:

Charlotte (AAA): A good outing for McCarthy today - 8K in 8 IP, no runs and just 3 hits. The Knight won on tuesday as well, Toca was 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs. Diaz struck out 9 in 8 IP. Monday? Another Knight win - and Borchard was 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs. Munoz strikes out 6 in 5 2/3rds.

Birmingham (AA): Barons lost tonight, though Blakely was 3 for 3. Malone struck out 4 in 2 IP. They won on tuesday - Fields homered and Sweeney was 3 for 4. Tracey struck out 10 in 6 IP. Monday was an off day.

Winston-Salem (A): The Hog win tonight and Collaro goes 2 for 3. Tuesday was a big 18-8 win. The box score is a mess. Hall was 3 for 5 with 4 RBIs, including 2 homers. Collaro and Schurenstein each had 3 hits as well. Collaro also had a homer. Monday was an uneventful loss.

Kannapolis (A): lost bad at Hickory tonight, but won huge on tuesday. Gonzales was 3 for 5. Monday was a loss, but McCarthy homered and drove in 3.

Bristol (R): off day today. Lost 10-5 to Kingsport on tuesday, though Morgan was 4 for 4. 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th on monday creates for an exciting win. Carter was 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs.

Great Falls (R): tonight was in progess at press time. Tuesday they won 8-3. Movil struck out 6 in 5 IP. Marshall struck out 4 in 3 IP. Monday was an uneventful 4-2 loss.

Baseball phrase of the day: Baseball Sadie n. a woman whose weakness is ballplayers.
